In Case of Emergency you should have the following supplies in your In Case of Emergency bag.

You can not survive long without water.  I’m not quite sure how you will carry large quantities.

You need to have a gallon of water per person, per day, In Case of Emergency.

You need food for a 30 day supply. The easiest type of food is dried condensed food meant to be stored for extended periods of time.

You should have a radio-flashlight with a hand crank, In Case of Emergency. You never know if your batteries will run out. With the hand cranked radio you know you will have the energy necessary to run the radio flashlight In Case of Emergency. You should also have a two-way or short wave radio in case the cell phone towers are overloaded or down.

You should have a first aid kit In Case of Emergency. You must be ready. One of the biggest problems in a disaster emergency is the outbreak of infections. If you are prepared In Case of Emergency with bandages and antiseptics like peroxide, rubbing alcohol and bacitracin you will have a much better chance of warding off infection.  I know some of you won’t forget to pack the other kind of alcohol. Just don’t get caught with it.  Medications need to be in prescription bottles if they are prescribed.  They should not be loose in your bag.

Global Water Shortage Looms In New Century

When most U.S. citizens think about water shortages — if they think about them at all — they think about a local problem, possibly in their town or city, maybe their state or region. We don’t usually regard such problems as particularly worrisome, sharing confidence that the situation will be readily handled by investment in infrastructure, conservation, or other management strategies. Whatever water feuds arise, e.g., between Arizona and California, we expect to be resolved through negotiations or in the courtroom.

But shift from a local to a global water perspective, and the terms dramatically change. The World Bank reports that 80 countries now have water shortages that threaten health and economies while 40 percent of the world — more than 2 billion people.  In case of emergency water shortage is a big deal.  Make sure to sign up for your copy of WalletICE TM.   click here for the balance of this article
